The AC Cobra, sold in the United States as the Shelby Cobra and AC Shelby Cobra, is a sports car manufactured by British company AC Cars, with a Ford V8 engine. It was produced intermittently in both the UK and later the USA since 1962. With some help from Ford Motor Company and a small team of mechanics, the first Shelby Cobra was introduced in 1962. It was powered by Ford’s 260 engine, and later with the 289 and 427 V8, and it pretty soon took the sports car world by a storm. The combination of lightweight body, small dimensions and brute US power proved to be revolutionary and the car did extremely well in competition all around the world.
This modern day version of the AC Cobra was manufactured by the “Kit Car Centre” in Boksburg, South Africa. The Kit Car Centre built these Cobra’s from 1982 through to 2003 before being bought out by Backdraft Racing. They are longer and wider for added comfort also. It is believed all of them were fitted with Chev engines just like the one we have here which is fitted with a 454 big block Chev engine!! When restored all the GS extras were fitted such as side stripes and wheel caps. Other features include a GT front spoiler, Shaker, bonnet stripes, bonnet locks and driving lights. The interior also received the GT trim when restored while remaining with the original saddle colour. Seats, door trims, steering wheel and dash were all upgraded to GT specs. An aftermarket stereo has been installed in the glovebox so that the original look is kept. The Ute was originally ordered with a 302 Windsor and a four speed Top Loader transmission. Now running a 351 Windsor with a mild cam, Edelbrock intake and extractors. The Top Loader gearbox remains, and the diff is a 9” with a 3.5 ratio. It is believed to have been last raced approximately 4-5 years ago at Phillip Island in a historic racing event. This incredibly special Holden Ute was built for James Brock and was produced by Wayne Park in Queensland who was the original builder of all the V8 Brutes. James Brock first competed in round three of the 2003 V8 Ute Championship at Wakefield Park and went on to finish 3rd in the Championship that year along with numerous pole positions and lap records. In the same year James and father Peter Brock drove the car together and won the “Great Aussie Ute Race” which was held at the Bathurst 24 Hour Race at Mount Panorama. In 2004 the car was driven by Damien White who along with a string of pole positions and lap records won that years Championship. James Brock then went on to race the Ute again in 2005 under the Team Brock banner and under the Brock Race Engineering banner in 2006. James would go on to race the Ute for the last time at the last round of the Championship at Eastern Creek in 2006 where the car finished in 3rd place. 2014 FORD FG FPV PURSUIT UTE. The FG series Falcon was first previewed at a press event on 17 February 2008 and sold until October 2014. As with the previous Falcon BA BF series, Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) produced high-performance versions of the Falcon FG. They included the F6 and V8-powered GT, GT-P and the GT E variants of the sedan the F6 Ute and V8-powered Pursuit and Super Pursuit models based on the Falcon Ute. Standard features included an alloy sports bar, black soft tonneau cover, high-flow dual-outlet exhaust system and high-series performance brakes comprising 322mm front and 305mm rear rotors. Prestige paint is the only option and nine exterior combinations are available, including a standard bonnet/roof stripe package that cannot be deleted. It’s accompanied by the GT F’s gloss-black ‘racoon eye’ headlight surrounds and a matching finish on the door-handles, mirrors and rear bumper. Only 120 examples were produced. Now ready for sale is this stunning Ford FG FPV Pursuit ute. As you can see this FPV has only been used very sparingly and has not even travelled 5,000 kilometres. The striking Kinetic Blue paintwork is perfect, and the factory Matt Black stripes compliment it just perfectly. This colour being one of only five colours available at the time and one of only nine colour combinations available altogether. Inside is like new and in the condition you would expect for a car that has travelled as little kilometres as this car has the special build number badge with a matching orange stripe graphic in the speedo, ‘Pursuit’ embroidery and orange stitching on the leather seat inserts and Pursuit gearshift badge. Like the GT F, there is also a unique start-up and gauge displays on the eight-inch central touch-screen including boost pressure, engine temperature and voltage. The Datsun 1200 car was made by the Nissan Motor Company. Why "1200"? Because it had an engine size of approximately 1200cc. In Japan it was known as "Datsun Sunny 1200". The car was Nissan chassis code B110. It was sold in Japan 1970-1972, North America in Model years 1971-1973, New Zealand to 1974, and South Africa to 1976.The Datsun 1200 was the second generation Sunny in Japan. This new Sunny sported MacPherson strut front suspension and the A series engine had grown to 1171cc. The body had attractive, simple styling and the car was a great success worldwide. The 1200 range included both two and four door sedans, a coupe and a wagon. Check out this little pocket rocket!! An absolutely beautiful example of a Datsun 1200 Coupe finished in a striking custom green with contrasting gold 18 inch B45 Simmons wheels front and rear!! Look inside and it is just as nice!! The Datsun sports a custom dash that features all Auto Meter instruments including a Turbo Smart boost 2, MOMO steering wheel, B&M Pro Ratchet shifter, Recaro seats with 2 inch Velo Milano racing harnesses to keep you strapped in tight!! Moving to the driveline and no stone has been left unturned. Starting with an S13 CA18DET Nissan engine that has been worked from top to bottom. The engine feature a Spool 2.0 stroker kit, CP pistons with Spool roads, full ARP stud kit, high volume oil pump, ported and polished head with Kelford cams and an ATI harmonic balancer. The induction consists of a Plazaman custom intake manifold, Precision gen 2 58/62 turbo and a 6 Boost high mount exhaust manifold. Keeping it all cool is a PWR intercooler and radiator. Controlling the engine is a Haltech ECU with Haltech LS1 coil packs. Other features are a custom oil catch can and NGK R5671A spark plugs. Fuelling this little monster is Bosch 04 fuel pump, Carter black lift pump, custom alloy fuel tank and a two later custom surge tank. The transmission is a manualised and shift kitted Jatco item with a stock torque convertor. Connecting that to the diff is a 3 inch one piece tailshaft. The diff is a shortened R31 LSD with 3.9 ratio. Braking and suspension are made up of R31 rear brake callipers and rotors, Calvert Caltracs in the rear and Maddat brake kit and coilers up the front. Also featuring custom handbrake cables and custom sway bar and castor bars too. Lastly, making this beast sound good is a 3 inch stainless exhaust with a 3 inch multi cell cat.
