1969 DODGE CHARGER Stock No: 656
Mopar fans knew him simply as “Mr. Norm,” as he and his dealership were synonymous with Dodge performance in the 1960s. Norman Kraus founded Chicago’s Grand Spaulding Dodge in 1962, right as the muscle car era was set to explode. Mr. Norm’s strategy was to focus on performance, and Grand Spalding Dodge quickly became the Mopar community’s prime source for all manner of go-fast parts. He would champion Dodge performance both on the street and at NHRA dragstrips. In fact, in an altered wheelbase Coronet, Grand Spaulding team driver Gary Dyer would often best the factory-backed Dodge racers.

This 1969 Dodge Charger R/T is said to be one of only 232 examples that left the factory with a 426 Hemi motor and delivered through Grand Spaulding Motors in Chicago Illinois. Probably one of the only one in Australia. Further to this it has only travelled just under 31,000 miles and still wears most of its original paint work. The black vinyl roof and black Bumble Bee stripes along with many other factory options add to this car’s extreme rarity. Included with the car are the original colour coded steel rims that still wear their original red wall Goodyear tyres. The stunning “X9” black vinyl interior is in great condition with options such as a console, an AM radio with rear seat speaker and a left-hand side remote control mirror. An extensive amount of paperwork is with the car including import papers, the original broadcast sheet, dealer invoice and a certificate of authenticity to verify this car is equipped with a genuine Mr. Norm vehicle package and a boot lid signed by Mr. Norm. Includes heaps of spares!! If you are a Mopar enthusiast this car is a must for your collection. Please contact one of our friendly staff to make an appointment to view this car at our Kogarah showroom.

1970 Dodge Charger Daytona NASACAR Superbird Tribute - FULL Buddy Baker Homage #88 - GENUINE 426ci NASCAR Hemi engine - Unbelievable Road Presence-
What do we say but wow what an absolute beast of a "MOPAR" American muscle car royalty and the Daytona Charger that broke the 200mph circuit oval record back in March 1970 which the actual Daytona that broke the record is sitting in NASCAR's Hall of Fame collection. This is the next best thing being the original car sold for US$1m decades ago sitting in the NASCAR HOF Museum so this will be the next closest and best thing and here we present to you one of the best tribute/clone's of that very car Buddy Baker #88 broke the rule books with!! A 1970 Dodge Charger built to disguise the car that Buddy accelerated to 200+ MPH which started of life as a 383, automatic, Charger 500 but now sporting beautiful bright "Hemi" blue paintwork with white stripe across the rear together with the special #88 livery and fitted with the special nose cone and huge rear wing, making this iconic tribute look like it is doing 200mph standing still!! Under the hood is nothing but the very best, a genuine NASCAR 426 cubic inch fuel injected Hemi engine producing in excess of 500 horsepower all controlled by a MOTEC engine management system. Side exiting exhaust system also adds to the race feel!! The Hemi engine is backed up by a 727 Torqueflite automatic gearbox. Inside is as per original with standard seats in black vinyl. Keeping an eye on all the excitement under the hood are a selection of Autometer gauges. The car sits perfectly on a set of NASCAR Stockcar rims with period Goodyear stencilled tyres. So, if you are in the market for a special Daytona Charger you could never build her for this asking price with so many period correct items and the big major being a genuine 426ci NASCAR V8 the heart of the Mopar beast. The "Winged Warriors" as they were known in NASCAR.
Something to note to collectors considering this magnificent Daytona tribute for your collection is the fact that only 70 of the 503 genuine Daytona Chargers built ever had the 426ci Hemi fitted in them with majority having the 440ci Magnum V8, so with a sale in the US last year of an exact tribute with NASCAR 426ci sold for US $500k and genuine cars well over $$$ seven figures you could never repeat this opportunity in Australia.

Restored 1968 Dodge Charger R/T presented in dark green with green trim, this iconic American muscle car has had many performance and handling upgrades such as a 440 cube Mopar engine stroked to a 500 with a 671 supercharger twin thermo fans with aluminium radiator , twin 750 double pumper carburetors, submerged electric Holley fuel pump in tank and only traveled 5000km since rebuild , fan cooled custom automatic gearbox been manualised with a reverse pattern shift , 9inch diff with 3:55 gears. Producing 750hp with a 4lbs boost would certainly need an upgrade in the brakes department to be able to pull this beast up to a complete stop which has been carried out with a Wilwood brake setup all round, Bilstein shocks front and back ridding on 20×9 wheels on the front & 20×13 wheels on the rear , this bulletproof muscle car presents in pristine condition throughout . With a total production of 96,000 Dodge Chargers ever produced in 1968 , 75% of them had vinyl roofs which makes this a more rare and desirable to appreciate in value, this turn key investment is now available to view in our Kogarah facility.
