Painted in two tone “Dorward Blue” over “Jewel Midnight” and separated with a unique red pin stripe. This SV88 has not been modified in any way and is it left the showroom floor way back in 1988. It even still retains the factory fitted Telecom Australia Traveller Phone. The car has been fitted with genuine Holden accessories such as headlight and bonnet protectors and mudflaps. The boot area even still houses the original jack and spare wheel including the Bridgestone RE71 tyre. An Aussie legend on two and four wheels. Wayne Gardner’s career highlights include no less than 18 Grand Prix wins from a decade long partnership with Honda, along with becoming the first Australian to take the coveted 500ccMotorcycle World Championship title. Following his retirement from front line motorcycle racing at the end of 1992, Gardner made a much publicised switch to touring cars. This in turn led to Gardner’s foray into the world of road cars, in the form of the Wayne Gardner Racing Road Division's Group A Commodore. Sensing a gap in the market between the increasingly expensive HSV products and the regular Commodore line up. Gardner's outfit planned to offer a wide range of engine, suspension and bodywork modifications at relatively affordable prices. Tapping into the expertise available via his racing team WGR upgrades included a cold-air induction system re-profiled camshaft, revised computer settings, intake and exhaust mods to increase power to 195kW. Based on the contemporary VR/VS Commodore with its slippery 'aero' styling, WGR''s Group A body package was the work of Sydney design studio Talon which included a deep front spoiler with integrated driving lights, side skirts and a boot mounted rear wing complete with carbon-fiber end plates. The choice of wheels was the 18inch 5 spoke alloy MOMO wheel complemented by the custom Recaro interior supplied by Autotek other cosmetic touches included a MOMO steering wheel with a carbon-fiber center console. The main objective for WGR vehicles were to build them with quality tailored for customer requirements. This particular example is totally original which comes with all documentation showing Wayne Gardner Racing as the first owner, logbooks and service history. It is the prototype vehicle (001/033 in the Series 1 model) with unique features that the other 32 examples did not receive such as larger front bucket seats, carbon fiber air box and larger 18-inch diameter rims and not 17-inch items the other cars were fitted with. The vehicle presents in great condition throughout with minimum wear and tear only traveled just over 89,000km This rare classic is a must for any Holden collector or car enthusiast.
The Holden Special Vehicles SV5000 was a proper V8 bruiser and was built in very limited numbers (359 in total) between 1989 and 1991. Based on the VN Commodore, the SV5000 started life in Holden’s Elizabeth plant in South Australia before being transferred to the boffins over at HSV, who were located in Notting Hill in Victoria at the time. This particular SV5000 is finished in SV Racing Green, one of only a handful of colours available on the SV5000 model. Both inside and out this SV5000 presents nicely and has only minor modifications such as a stereo and exhaust upgrade. Comes with original logbook, logbook folder and broadcast sheet. The Gen-F series, which is based on the VF Commodore series went on sale in August 2013.The Gen-F GTS features a 6.2 supercharged LSA V8 engine which provides 430 kW of power and 740Nm of torque. To assist with its cooling requirements, the GTS is fitted with a stacked plate engine oil cooler and a stand-alone water-to-air charge-air cooling system. Unique tail shafts cater for the higher torque loads and the rear differential helps transfer all of the power to ground. At the time of its release and still to date, the GTS was the most powerful car ever produced in Australia. Like the ClubSport, the GTS is available in both a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission and it also features 20-inch alloy wheels. Due to the increase in power the GTS has a larger brake package than the ClubSport, also for the sportier look a larger rear spoiler. The GTS is also equipped with generation 3 magnetic ride control or MRC. There are three modes for the MRC, tour, sport/performance and track. The GTS is equipped with a driver preference dial that has four modes to adjust the bi-model exhaust and MRC, these are Tour, Sport, Performance, Track.

The HSV VP Series was launched in October 1991 and featured major upgrades, a re-styled body design and the introduction of six new colours. Independent Rear Suspension also became available on selected short wheelbase models. the introduction of new model names, Senator and GTS which continue to be used to the present day. While the entry-level Clubsport and luxury Senator are equipped with the 180kw V8, the high-performance GTS came standard with the 200kw version and HSV's premium brake package. LSD was standard across the range. Other vehicles in the range included the HSV VP ClubSport, HSV VP SV 91 and a range of limited edition 5th Anniversary vehicles.

HSV’s 5th Anniversary range was released to coincide with the company’s 8,000th vehicle being built at the Notting Hill plant. A total of 138 anniversary vehicles were produced including a mix of ClubSport, Senator & Senator 5000i, Maloo, Statesman and Sports Wagon models, and were finished in ‘Galaxy Blue’ with ‘Panorama Silver’ lower body components. This particular example presents in beautiful condition inside and out and is the perfect weekend cruiser with rarity to boot!! Built in March 1993 and has the optional Devonish trim. The 5 liter engine runs great and the TH700 automatic transmission shifts smoothly also. Of the 65 units produced this car is build number 63. In 1993, the significantly redesigned VR Senator was released. The rear seating was from the Holden Statesman. Along with the rest of the HSV range, the Senator body kit was penned by designer Ian Callum to produce a sleeker, more aggressive stance along with a 185 kW (248 hp) version of the 5.0-litre V8. A new suspension setup was developed, known as the touring package which aimed to provide capable handling and a smooth ride. Additionally, from May 1994 onwards, the Senator could be optioned with HSV’s new 215 kW (288 hp) 5.7-litre “stroker” V8 known as the “215i”. The $10,000 “stroker” engine option was hand built as an upgrade over the standard V8. This engine could be coupled to either the four-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. The total number built for both versions was 855.
