Mopar fans knew him simply as “Mr. Norm,” as he and his dealership were synonymous with Dodge performance in the 1960s. Norman Kraus founded Chicago’s Grand Spaulding Dodge in 1962, right as the muscle car era was set to explode. Mr. Norm’s strategy was to focus on performance, and Grand Spalding Dodge quickly became the Mopar community’s prime source for all manner of go-fast parts. He would champion Dodge performance both on the street and at NHRA dragstrips. In fact, in an altered wheelbase Coronet, Grand Spaulding team driver Gary Dyer would often best the factory-backed Dodge racers.
This 1969 Dodge Charger R/T is said to be one of only 232 examples that left the factory with a 426 Hemi motor and delivered through Grand Spaulding Motors in Chicago Illinois. Probably one of the only one in Australia. Further to this it has only travelled just under 31,000 miles and still wears most of its original paint work. The black vinyl roof and black Bumble Bee stripes along with many other factory options add to this car’s extreme rarity. Included with the car are the original colour coded steel rims that still wear their original red wall Goodyear tyres. The stunning “X9” black vinyl interior is in great condition with options such as a console, an AM radio with rear seat speaker and a left-hand side remote control mirror. An extensive amount of paperwork is with the car including import papers, the original broadcast sheet, dealer invoice and a certificate of authenticity to verify this car is equipped with a genuine Mr. Norm vehicle package and a boot lid signed by Mr. Norm. Rare barn find 1977 Holden Torana LX series Hatchback. Unrestored one owner all numbers matching 202ci red motor matched to its factory 3 speed T-Bar automatic transmission. Presented in Antelope Metalic paint with Chamois interior being all original from day one, a true survivor apart from its general ware and tare which shows great patina, showing 161,000km on the odometer with most of its original decals and QC stamping visible throughout the car, all original glass, radio, chrome work and also retains its original log books paperwork and original keys sold by FREEMAN MOTORS Adelaide which still has its first issue number plates affixed to the car. Restored 1968 Dodge Charger R/T presented in dark green with green trim, this iconic American muscle car has had many performance and handling upgrades such as a 440 cube Mopar engine stroked to a 500 with a 671 supercharger twin thermo fans with aluminium radiator , twin 750 double pumper carburetors, submerged electric Holley fuel pump in tank and only traveled 5000km since rebuild , fan cooled custom automatic gearbox been manualised with a reverse pattern shift , 9inch diff with 3:55 gears. Producing 750hp with a 4lbs boost would certainly need an upgrade in the brakes department to be able to pull this beast up to a complete stop which has been carried out with a Wilwood brake setup all round, Bilstein shocks front and back ridding on 20×9 wheels on the front & 20×13 wheels on the rear , this bulletproof muscle car presents in pristine condition throughout . With a total production of 96,000 Dodge Chargers ever produced in 1968 , 75% of them had vinyl roofs which makes this a more rare and desirable to appreciate in value, this turn key investment is now available to view in our Kogarah facility.
