Along with a full respray by the current owner the interior has also been treated to a full make over all to factory spec in its original Black Slate vinyl. The original 253 Holden V8 engine has been replaced with a Holden 308 which is runs and sounds great. The transmission is a M21 four speed, and the diff is a Ford 9” with disc brakes. Now available for sale is this 1972 Holden HQ SS. Originally made by Holden to test the market prior to the release of the GTS Monaro sedans and one of only 2800 built. This SS is one of only approximately 382 known examples on the HQ SS Register making this car quite rare. It is also believed it is one of only 26 built series II in the Infra-Red colour in the Melbourne plant. During the current ownership, the car has received a closed door respray which presents nicely. Correct stripes and decals were replaced also. The original SS rims are intact and have also been restored as per factory and have new tyres recently fitted. In addition to this new bumper bars have also been fitted too. The trim in the car is all per factory and is in terrific condition. Seats and door trims have been replaced recently and a general tidy up to return the car to original. Mechanically the car is all standard and is currently running a non-original 253 engine, four speed and standard diff. The car has recently been serviced and the front brakes replaced at the same time. Overall, this car presents nicely and is ready for weekend cruising with nothing to do except jump in and enjoy and is now available for inspection by appointment in our Kogarah facility.
This Holden Commodore VFseries ( SS-V Redline ) based has been optimised by Holden and called it the Motorsport Edition which is part of an elite production with limited numbers available of 1200 in total, powered by a 6.2-litre LS3 naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 304kW / 570Nm of torque. The Motorsport Edition comes with a unique stripe package, forged 20-inch split-rim wheels, upgraded brake package, cooling system which consists of an additional engine oil cooler fitted and an in-tank radiator water-to-oil cooler for manual models which makes this a Level 3 GM Track Spec , meaning it is capable of being driven hard at any track event without the risk of overheating or part failure with 4 modes to choose from (Touring, Sport, Performance and Track), Sport switches the the MRC (Magnetic Ride Control) to a damper tune and opens the bi-modal exhaust flaps. Performance introduces torque, meatier steering and ‘Competitive’ damping, Track brings launch control in the manual version only while Touring is for your general driving. Also fitted with Magnetic Ride Control suspension that has been custom-tuned by Holden’s engineering team to offer a balance between performance and comfort. The Motorsport also gets a build plate in the engine bay with its build number and ‘KOM’ on its build plate for (‘King of the Mountain’), reflecting Commodore’s 24 Bathurst victories. Interior has been slightly customised with heated performance front seats, metallic trimmings throughout the interior distinguishing it as a limited edition from the SS-V Redline version, embroidered with its model into the instrument-panel trim and a Motorsport commemorative presentation case that includes a copy of the build plate and a video screen that plays professionally shot images of the Motorsport limited edition and a 1:18-scale Biante model of the car. This particular car is build number 566/1200 presented in Redhot, running its 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine backed by a 6speed manual gear box which has travelled 3700km from new also comes with all paperwork , owners manual, log books, commemorative presentation case, 1:18-scale Biante model, still new factory rubber floor mats by Holden with logo branding and a new car smell with a flawless interior that has no wear what so ever. Exterior is in stunning show room condition with no chips or scratches.
