This car retains a tag (with special order number in the engine bay), identification tag on driver’s side pillar, date coded 9th month 1964 Super Stock A990 426 race engine (only 202 engines built in 1964). Car shipping date was December 1964.
Compliance tag with special order number listed in Darrell Davis’s 1965 Plymouth Super Commando Guide/ Listed in Darrell Davis’s 64-65 Hemi Serial Number Book and supplied with sale. Tan Interior/ Era- correct white paint. Sale includes: A copy of the car’s build sheet card / and Darrell Davis books. Super Stock suspension. Era-correct American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels (12-inch width rear). Genuine A990 Alcoa aluminium heads, priceless magnesium cross ram manifold with correct Holley A990 carburetors and linkages. Genuine A990 NOS ignition leads, distributor, coil, and fuel pump. Engine has all genuine NOS replacement parts and was reconditioned to factory specs by Ray Barton with receipts. Rated at 425 hp and 490 ft-lbs of torque but well-known fact to have a lot more. Correct and original A990 extractors with lay pipes, (impossible to get). Correct date coded 8 ¾ with 32 spline axles and correct A990 Chrysler staggered rear springs. Comes with original A990 Tail shaft (car has upgraded tail shaft with 1350 uni’s for safety). Side windows and rear window genuine date coded NOS corning glass. Refurbished A990 Mopar Super Stock battery which locates in the boot.
Other features include genuine A990 park delete reverse pattern steering column and steering wheel and a single windscreen wiper. The interior was stripped of anything that didn’t need to go for the ride from factory. The rear seat, heater, radio was deleted, and the front bucket seat were 2 x A100 Dodge seats (with 2 sets of lightweight aluminium frames for tall and short). Also comes with original front steel rims and front tyres, correct rear steel rims with M/T Slicks (not to be driven on) to show the car with. A spare front windshield, date coded corning glass which were bought from Mr. Norm and a lot more spares come with the sale. Powered by a Sonny’s 555 cubic inch big block Chev with all the fruit starting with a Merlin block, Brodix aluminium heads, APD custom built 410 series blow thru carbie with dual floats front and back, Vortec supercharger running 10ib of boost, PWR custom made intercooler and a custom radiator with twin thermos fans to help keep things cool. A built Turbo 400 automatic transmission with a 3000rpm stall convertor and a 12-bolt diff help to get the 1000 horsepower to the ground! Other goodies include an ICE ignition with two step, Caltrac suspension and Afco shocks. Runs beautifully on 98 pump fuel. The Camaro sits nicely on Weld wheels with PSR 275/60/15 tyres on the rear and 175/80/15 tyres on the front. Exhaust system is made up of a 4-inch stainless system with Flow Master mufflers. Finished in a beautiful blue metallic with period correct white striping. A custom reverse cowl hood keeps everything hiding under the hood. The interior consists of upgraded front buckets for added comfort along with a welded in roll cage, Autometer gauges and a B&M shifter.
