Now available for sale is this 1994 VR Holden HSV Commodore Series 1 GTS 215i 6 speed manual sedan with ABS & IRS, and HSV build number 054.
This VR has had only two owners, with the current ownership now being 30 years. First used as a daily drive for ten years whilst carefully modifying the vehicle for weekend track events over the next ten years. The car has not been on the track since! This vehicle is also now suitable for low-cost registration in the historic category. The Sherbrooke Green paintwork presents nicely, and the car also sits nicely on its original 17-inch HSV GTS wheels. The interior trim of the car is still in near new condition as it has always been garaged. Various improvements have been made to the vehicle including the 355 stroker V8 engine, brakes and suspension all of which are reversible should any new owner want to reverse engineer back to stock standard. This HSV now has a $35,000 engine installed and has only been driven 3000kms since being freshened up again in 2020. The original EFI Holden V8 block now has +020” thou oversize ACL type Larry Perkins balanced flat-top pistons fitted and has been fully ‘blue-printed’ running a compression ratio of 9.8:1, it has a nice strong idle. Main bearing caps are still 2-bolt but now with larger 7/16” high tensile steel bolts. The Harrop design 355 stroker crank is factory original equipment but now balanced as an assembly with its A9L conrods attached. This crankshaft was fitted new in 2016. Group A air/fuel induction system includes the rare VN twin throttle manifold and cast rocker cover set. Induction and exhaust include high flow polished EFI cylinder heads and a Crane hydraulic roller camshaft. Large 1.75” Pacemaker exhaust headers have been fitted to an evenly matched length road legal exhaust system. Gearing – final drive ratio currently is 3.887:1 shortened from standard 3.4:1 factory ratio using heavy duty 28 spline crown wheel and pinion in ‘mini-spool’ differential. And the list just goes on!
