The Holden VK Calais Director was introduced in 1985 as a top-of-the-line luxury performance sedan, developed by the Holden Dealer Team under Peter Brock’s guidance. It was based on the VK Calais, Holden’s flagship model, but extensively modified to blend European-inspired comfort with Australian V8 muscle. This Director is all that and a lot more. The original colour of Alpine White has been retained along with a full body kit and the addition of a factory sunroof. Interior is all to factory spec with Coppertone velour Scheel seats in the front and original rear seat. The dash has been refurbished and new carpet with sound deadening applied. The Director sits snuggly on a set of 20 x 8.5 MOMO wheels up front and 20 x 10 MOMO wheels on the rear with a tubbed rear end and thanks to coil overs in all four corners. Other modifications to suspension include chassis connectors, adjustable panard rod. A 355 stroker takes care of the power and is paired with a Trimatic with a 2800 stall convertor and a stage 2 shift kit. The diff is a 9” with 3.7 gears, billet axles and a Truetrac centre. All the brakes have been upgraded with VT Commodore rotors, calipers and master cylinder. The car is fully engineered in NSW.
