Mention the name “Shelby” just about anywhere in the world to just about any car guy and they will know what you’re referring to. Carroll Shelby an American automotive designer, racing driver and entrepreneur. Shelby was involved with the AC Cobra and the Mustang for the Ford Motor Company. Shelby's early racing successes led to a joint effort of Ford and Shelby-American to produce the Mustang-based Shelby GT350, starting in 1965, then the Shelby GT500, starting in 1967. Shelby produced those cars through 1968, then subsequent cars with the Shelby GT brand were produced in-house by Ford. This Shelby, that started its life as a GT350 has at some stage of its life been cloned into a GT500 and not just externally. Beneath the hood is a monstrous 427 “Side Oiler” cubic inch big block (cross bolt block) with twin carbs sitting on top. Behind that is a C6 auto transmission with a high stall convertor and lastly nothing other than a 9” diff with 4.11 gear ratios. The Shelby is believed to have been in Australia since the 90s and given a partial restoration while still retaining the factory interior. Still sporting its original and desirable colour of Nightmist Blue and riding on Shelby Magstar rims. Do not miss out on this opportunity to secure a world-renowned muscle car.
